a note to you
Have you ever seen bubble layout tutorials, but think they're just too simple and looked a little bit cheap? Well this tutorial is an enhanced version of the common bubble layout. Almost all steps are translatable to Paint Shop Pro. Please know that the coloring steps depend on the base picture you choose, so I suggest you choose pictures with the similar color tone and brightness.

You will be making a layout like this:

Steps
If you'd like to follow along, I'll be using the pictures here.

1. First, open up a new canvas 1280x1024. Doing so will prevent you from making the layout a little too big. Fill it with a dark grey so you can see the layout properly. Using a large brush with 60% Hardness, put three white bubbles of different sizes close together.

2. Then, take your first picture and put it near the bottom right. Using your Lasso Tool set at 20px Feather, go around the person roughly. Press Ctrl+Shift+I to invert the selection and delete the unwanted parts. Set that layer to Multiply. Take your second picture and paste it on the top bubble, leaving the bottom corner overlapping the first picture. Set that layer to Darken.. Because this picture has a bigger profile, use your eraser to erase the edges instead this time. The bigger the eraser is, the softer the outcome will look like.

3. Paste the third picture on the bottom of the three bubbles. Set that layer to Darken, now the colors in the image will blend in with the others. Again, use a soft eraser and erase the edges carefully.

4. Now we've finished the placement of images, let's tweak the colors! Download this selective coloring settings and then go to Layers > New Adustment Layer > Selective Color and load the one you've downloaded. Go back to the layer with the background color and replace it with #CCA589. Now the layout looks a lot more interesting, doesn't it?

5. For brushes, toggle the Selective Color opacity to disable it. Use your eyedropper tool and select a purple from the images. Use the Splattered Water brushes from the brush page and put it on the edges of the layout. Choose some other brushes from the brush page and put them everywhere on the layout, use your creativity! After that, resize the layout if you'd like, I resized mine to a 75%.
